Day 3- The Scenic Route

-Breakfast in the stable
-Tour of the castle
-Confused on the motorway
-Coastlines, mountains, rolling hills, fields and farmland, gravel roads, tiny towns
-Missed our turn and ended up at a petrified forrest
-Stopped the car and turned off the engine to listen to all the sheep baaing
-Stuck behind a herd of sheep... I got out of the car to chase them and they parted like the Red Sea in front of me.
-Made a potential 4 hour drive last 12 hours by continually stopping to take everything in
-Pulled into Te Anau (the last town on the way to Milford Sound) just as it got dark

Fun Fact: There are no real predators or threatening animals in New Zealand. No bears, wolves, wild cats, or snakes. Sheep and deer on farms or tourists out camping have nothing to worry about.

Think how big the town must be with a library this size

Petrified tree trunk

Petrified forrest- stumps and fallen trees that have turned into stone

so.... which way do we go?

Those dogs are living the life.

One minute they're running from us in terror, the next they're destroying someone's lawn
