Day 4- Helicopter Ride

On our way back up the mountain after our cruise, we decided to pull off and look into the possibility of taking a helicopter ride. I shouldn't have been surprised when we found out there were two seats left on the last flight of the day. After all, the entire trip had been perfect so far. I should have known it would only get better.

It was my first helicopter ride so I didn't know what to expect. We lifted off the ground with such ease that I couldn't even tell we did until everything shrunk beneath us. With my two cameras in hand, I had to remind myself to stop taking pictures long enough to just take it in.

My mom was screaming into the microphone of her headset (which fed right into my ear) as we flew up and dipped over the mountain ridges with our stomachs dropping like we were on a roller coaster. Our pilot was definitely having a bit of fun with us. And I'm sure he loved hearing our gasps and our awed silences as we gawked at the rugged beauty of the mountains, waterfalls, and valleys.

You will go out in joy and be led forth in peace; the mountains and hills will burst into song before you, and all the trees of the field will clap their hands.
Isaiah 55:12

And the best part...Our helicopter landed on the top of a glacier!!! I didn't even know how excited I was until I realized I couldn't hold the camera still long enough to take a picture. We spent about five glorious minutes walking around before we got back in the helicopter and flew off. It was so surreal.
